Basketball Hall-of-Famer Isiah Thomas gave props to Indiana Fever rookie sensation Caitlin Clark. Thomas praised Clark for not being too caught up with the WNBA Rookie of the Year race and for focusing more on helping her team improve and win.
The two-time NBA champion gave a thumbs-up to this mindset of Clark in a post on X, formerly Twitter, highlighting how the Iowa Hawkeye legend and her close rookie rival Angel Reese are all about winning with their teams.
Thomas wrote:
"Let it be known: Caitlin Clark Angel Reese, play to WIN!"

Speaking to the media on Saturday, Caitlin Clark addressed her close WNBA rookie of the year race with Reese. She said that as much as people may want the narrative to be about them, they are really about being good teammates and helping their respective teams become winners, not only now but also moving forward.
Clark and Reese had their final regular season encounter on Friday, with the Fever star emerging on top, helping her team to a dominant 100-81 victory. She finished with a career-high 31 points, to go along with 12 assists and four rebounds. Reese, for her part, had 10 points and 11 rebounds.
The win thrust the Fever to a .500 record of 16-16, as they are currently at sixth spot in the standings. They next play on Sunday against the Dallas Wings on the road.
Caitlin Clark happy about how Fever have turned their season around
Prized rookie Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever have turned their season around after a slow start to their campaign and she could not be happier.
The Fever opened the ongoing WNBA season with a dismal 1-8 record as they tried to figure out how to work the pieces they have, with Clark a key figure in it. But they have significantly improved since, going 15-8 in their next 23 games to will themselves to the sixth spot in the standings and a solid shot at making the playoffs with eight games remaining in the regular season.
Caitlin Clark spoke about their turnaround following their latest victory over the Chicago Sky on Friday, saying (via USA Today):
"It's honestly impressive how we started the season and, now, sitting at sixth place with eight games left. But you have to continue to execute down the stretch."
Caitlin Clark has played in all of the Fever's games so far. She has been a steady force, averaging 18.4 points, 8.3 assists (league-high), 5.7 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 36 minutes. More importantly, she has incorporated her game with those of fellow All-Star teammates Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston to much success.
The Fever have not made it to the playoffs since 2016 but are positioning themselves to break the drought this season with Clark at the forefront.
