How many WNBA players from 2024 draft class will play in Unrivaled?

The WNBA is finally getting the recognition it deserves. As such, other endeavors have surfaced to help the players get an alternative source of income and competition during the offseason.

WNBA stars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier teamed up with venture capitalists to create Unrivaled, a new 3-on-3 basketball tournament that will tip-off on January 17.

The league will feature a combination of youth and experience, meaning even some of the youngest and rising stars in the league will have an opportunity to showcase their talents.

Which players from the 2024 WNBA Draft will play in Unrivaled?

Only four players from the talented 2024 WNBA Draft class will partake in the tournament: Angel Reese, Aaliyah Edwards, Rickea Jackson, and Cameron Brink. Brink, however, signed a two-year deal, and she won't play in the inaugural season as she continues to recover from a season-ending ACL injury.

The league reportedly made major efforts to get Caitlin Clark to join, with some reports stating that they even offered her a 'Messi-like' deal. Nonetheless, the Indiana Fever star decided to take time off to rest ahead of her second year in the WNBA.

How does Unrivaled work?

Unrivaled will feature six teams, all consisting of six players. The games will played on a shorter court in a custom-made venue in Florida. They will have four seven-minute quarters.

Additionally, Unrivaled will introduce the first-ever one-on-one tournament, where every player competes for a chance to win a $200,000 prize. Reportedly, players will also earn about $250,000 each and hold equity in the league.
