Women's basketball has grown immensely over the past few months and this momentum is something that Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier would like to maximize. According to the latest reports circulating on the internet, the two WNBA All-Stars are already formulating a women's 3x3 league.
The report was more popularized by Shams Charania's social media post, which indicates that the new basketball league is named 'Unrivaled'. What is more intriguing is that this project would offer the highest average pay for female basketball players in history.
"Unrivaled – a professional women’s 3-on-3, six-team league co-founded by WNBA stars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier – is setting the record for paying the highest average salary in pro female team sports history. Notable signings to be announced in near future," posts Charania.
This news had mixed reactions, mainly from the basketball community, on how this new league will break records.
"How does this pay more than WNBA? What is the WNBA doing wrong??" asks Oredeem.
Of course, this news sparks some excitement to the basketball world and many are anticipating its release.
"This is incredibly cool. Impressive stuff to launch this without much buzz in the lead up. Excited to see this come to fruition," said Sean Bernard.
"We love to see it!" Ballislife Bets reacts.
There are also other reactions from the other end of the spectrum, saying who would care about this new league.
"Who is gonna watch this??? Notable signings. Lmao like who???" questions Knicks Clicks.
""I’d rather watch paint dry bro but thank you," said 3DOG.
Some are questioning how this new league of Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier would be accepted by the WNBA as 'Big 3' has trouble getting support from the NBA.
"Aren’t they both active players? Surprised the WNBA isn’t opposed to this," said @DHK_NYK.

With the news coming out that 'Unrivaled' will offer more space and platform for women's basketball players, Cassandra Negley of Yahoo Sports shared more information on what to expect in her latest article.
According to the report, the new league will commence on January 2025. This plan had an original start date of January 2024 but it had to take a step back due to some negotiations in the collective bargaining agreement concerning players who are playing overseas.
The project by Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier has the support of personalities like Steve Nash, Alex Morgan, Carmelo Anthony and Megan Rapinoe.
Unrivaled is also set to pay its athletes a handsome six-figure amount and ensure long-term financial stability. Aside from the 3x3 tournament, Unrivaled will also feature a mid-season 1-on-1 tournament.
