The Caitlin Clark vs Angel Reese rivalry was one of the biggest, if not the biggest, storylines in the 2024 WNBA season. The Indiana Fever guard and the Chicago Sky forward clashed many times in college, engaging in a rivalry that many thought would continue in the W.
A video shared on X shows comedian Nate Jackson giving his two cents on this debate. He was surprised at finding out that plenty of people in this venue supported Reese over Clark, using a Batman analogy to explain the ongoing discussions.
"But they make it seem like everybody loves Caitlin. You know what I think is crazy? It's how polarizing that s**t is. We really be arguing about, like one is Bane and the other one's Batman. And the media is perpetrating all that s**t and then the women, I didn't expect y'all to fight about it.
"I thought like, 'Finally we give a f**k about the WNBA, everybody would be happy. The women were like, 'What about me, though?' They've been fighting the game and beating the s**t out of her. They've been rough on Caitlin and she's not having the path I thought she was going to have," Jackson said.
He then joked about Subway offering customers tickets to WNBA games if they bought a footlong sandwich. He also revealed he got into a heated argument with a female friend who said there were more stars to watch in the league.
Jackson insisted that something changed since he was actually paying attention to the W. He finished the joke by saying all the men who argued about the WNBA would be gone as soon as the NFL season started.
NaLyssa Smith praises Caitlin Clark over 'huge' impact on the Fever
Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever closed the regular season breaking another record, playing in front of over 20,000 fans at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. Teammate NaLyssa Smith shared her thoughts on sharing touches with Clark and the impact she's had on the league's popularity.
"It's huge," Smith said. "This is what we've been hoping for forever. So you know it's fun to play in these games, you never get used to it; just always showing up and playing in front of sold-out crowds.
"And I mean, shoutout Caitlin. Shoutout Caitlin. We appreciate her," she added.
The Fever will now face the Connecticut Sun in the first round of the playoffs and fans are ready to keep watching Caitlin Clark perform at a high level.
