Angel Reese clapped back at fans criticizing her financial decisions last week. The Chicago Sky forward surprised fans after she revealed her apartment in Chicago costs $8,000 per month, which is more than her monthly salary with the Sky.
"I'm living beyond my means. My rent is more than that, it's $8,000."
Fans learned that Reese signed a massive multi-year deal with Reebok on Thursday and she'll release the first signature shoe in 2026. The WNBA star was ecstatic after sharing the news on X, thanking God with a jab at the fans who criticized her over her rent.
"God is so good!!!🙏🏽 (looks like i can “afford” my bills now🤣😘)," she wrote.
Speaking on her signature shoe, Angel Reese revealed where she and the company stand right now and her expectations about this partnership.
“We’ve already kicked off the design process, and it means the world to me to have Reebok’s full support and confidence with this shoe and overall partnership," she said, via sneaker insider Nick DePaula.
After her outstanding rookie season, the forward keeps winning off the court and adding more deals to her portfolio. She finished second in the Rookie of the Year voting behind Caitlin Clark after setting several records, including the most consecutive double-doubles in a single season and the most rebounds in a season, which was later broken by A'ja Wilson.
