Catilin Clark's Indiana Fever are on the road today in Minnesota to take on the Lynx. The short commute between the two states is likely to draw a pro-Fever crowd to the Target Center in Minneapolis.
Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve, when asked about the potential crowd, said she couldn't care less.
"I don't give two sh*ts," Reeve exclaimed. "Not even one sh*t."
The coach shook her head with the answer, eventually letting out a smirk and then a smile as the press room filled with laughter.
Reeve is also the coach for the USA women's basketball team, which was under fire for not selecting Clark in their team ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Reeve was also seen allegedly showing disdain towards the hype surrounding Clark on an X post in May. When one user remarked that a specific event isn't being broadcast because "they only care about Caitlin," Reeve's account responded with a "that part."
This will be the rookie star's first matchup against the Lynx in her career. She has a double-double in five straight games and in six of her last seven. They last beat the Phoenix Mercury, 95-86, on Friday, behind her 20-point, 13-assist performance.
Despite their record, the 10-14 Fever are third in their conference. They've won six of their last 10 while Clark has broken out as a playmaker on the floor. She'll look to keep her turnovers in check — she hasn't committed less than four in a game since June 10.
The Lynx are coming off a huge loss to the Seattle Storm, and are hoping to have the return of star forward Napheesa Collier, who has a game-time-decision injury designation. They're 16-7 on the season, barely holding onto the top seed in a western conference featuring the surging Las Vegas Aces.
