Angel Reese, the Chicago Sky rookie phenom fresh off a historic All-Star selection, had a relatively quiet holiday. While most were spending the 4th of July holiday barbecuing at pool parties or shooting off fireworks in their backyard, Reese kept it simple.

Reese took to X with a post that can only be described as peak off-season vibes, saying:

"I didn’t eat crabs today or see any fireworks"

The tweet, punctuated by a single, slightly disappointed emoji, left fans speculating if the first half of the WNBA season took its toll on the former LSU Tiger.

A low-profile holiday may be exactly what she needs after a record-setting rookie season. She averaged an astonishing double-double with 13.2 points and 11.8 rebounds per game.

With the WNBA All-Star break just around the corner, Reese is sure to get her fill of excitement soon enough.

Angel Reese praises A'ja Wilson's shoe line despite Reebok partnership

Angel Reese is one of the best young stars in women's basketball but she gas plenty of respect for the veterans. This week, she told A'ja Wilson how much she loved her shoes.

Angel Reese talked with media members before Chicago's June 27 game against the Las Vegas Aces and explained how excited she was for her first-ever meeting against them.

On top of Wilson offering the "Bayou Barbie" some counsel on the court, last season's Finals MVP appreciates how Chicago's rookie is driven by a two-time WNBA champion away from it as well.

Reese said she would have worn Wilson's signature Nikes on the court if not for her Reebok deal.

"I love her shoe. I'm so happy for her," Reese said. "I mean, she's deserved it. A'ja has been somebody that's inspired me, not just on the court, but off the court, and as a black woman, her story being from South Carolina and everything behind that."
"So I'm super happy for her. I wish if I could wear Nike, I would definitely wear her shoe for sure. But I'm happy for her, everything that she's doing, and she continues to lead the way in so many different ways."

The release date for Wilson's first Nike signature has yet to be made public.
