WNBA star Angel Reese was recently name-dropped by Chicago rapper Lil Durk, who is an avid basketball fan. Whether he's attending an NBA game, WNBA game, or playing basketball himself, Lil Durk has become a staple of the basketball community. This week while previewing a new song with YTB Fatt, the rapper can be heard name-dropping Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky.
The timing of the bar comes on the heels of Reese making WNBA history with 15 straight double-doubles. While her streak ended over the weekend against the New York Liberty, the LSU alum is now the sole owner of the WNBA's double-double record after surpassing the 12 double-doubles logged by Candace Parker.
While she won't have a chance to extend her own double-double record further, her play has earned her a name-drop in Lil Durk's new song. In a video posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, Lil Durk can be heard previewing the song on a speaker system.
In it, he raps:
“Courtside, won a Sky game, 100 on me, telling Angel Reese to shoot”

Looking at Angel Reese's upcoming debut at WNBA All-Star Weekend
While her double-double streak may have come to an end, Angel Reese has plenty to celebrate. The standout rookie was named to the WNBA All-Star team, where she will play alongside fellow rookie star Caitlin Clark.
Following Saturday's game against the New York Liberty, Reese and the Sky will play the Las Vegas Aces later tonight in their final game before the WNBA All-Star/Olympic breaks. Then, on Saturday, she will suit up for Team WNBA against the US Women's Olympic basketball team during All-Star weekend.
While speaking on ESPN's NBA Today show last week after being named an All-Star, Reese opened up on being teammates with Caitlin Clark for the first time:
"I know so many fans are gonna come out to watch both of us. I know a lot of people are just gonna come to Phoenix, I'm sure it's already sold out.
"Being able to be in that environment, we're gonna be playing together for a while so this is not gonna be the [last] time. I know we'll be All-Stars again, and hopefully, 2028 we'll be Olympians together."
As Reese prepares for the WNBA All-Star game, and the Olympic break to come, she and the Sky now sit in eighth place in the league's power rankings, and fourth place in the Eastern Conference.
Currently, the team is in the midst of a two-game skid that has seen the Sky drop back-to-back games against the Liberty heading into their game against the Las Vegas Aces tonight.
With the WNBA All-Star weekend right around the corner, it will be interesting to see how things play out when Reese and Clark take the court together.
