Chicago Sky's star Angel Reese lauds WNBA lifestyle with 'greater things in life' tweet

Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky was very thankful for all the "greater things in life" in a message to her followers on X. Reese had a good start to her WNBA career despite the Sky's season-opener loss to the Dallas Wings. She's already one of the most popular women's basketball players at the moment.

In a tweet, Reese was feeling blessed and showed her gratitude to all the people who helped her in life. She was very happy that the right people helped her be in the position she's now right now.

"I'm so blessed to have such amazing people in my life. God knows I'm not perfect, but he put the right people in my life that continue to guide me to the greater things in life," Reese wrote.

Angel Reese has a lot to be thankful for from graduating from LSU to being drafted to the WNBA last month. She was also recently invited to attend the 2024 Met Gala in New York, which showed how she's one of the most popular athletes in the world.

On the court, Reese had 12 points and eight rebounds after a tough first half. She bounced back in the second half despite the Chicago Sky's 87-79 loss to the Dallas Wings. She was inefficient and in foul trouble in the first two quarters before finding her rhythm.

Reese needs to work on some things, but it's expected that she will be a success in the WNBA. The Chicago fan base has accepted her and even dubbed her the "Chi-Town Barbie."

Her jerseys are selling out, and it's possible that the fans would sell out the Sky's first home game of the season on May 23 against the New York Liberty.

In an interview with Dorothy J. Gentry of NABJ Sports before her WNBA debut, Angel Reese was asked about her motivation in life. She had an emotional answer because it was all about her mother and the things she did to help her and her brother growing up.

"My mom is a single mom. Being able to raise two kids. I mean, I just graduated. My mom wouldn’t have been able to pay for college for me and my brother without me being on athletic scholarships and academic scholarships.
"I'm blessed. My mom had no student loans, my brother's graduating in December. So being able to walk away from that, that's all I ever wanted in life," Reese said.

Reese's career is just beginning, and the focus should be on how to adjust her game to the WNBA. She has a chance to avenge the Sky's loss, as her team remains in Dallas to face the Wings on Saturday night.
