WNBA fans reacted to Kate Martin being selected by the Golden State Valkyrie in the WNBA Expansion Draft. The Valkyrie also added other stars like Monique Billings, Temi Fagbenle and Stephanie Talbot.
Reacting to the Valkyrie's post on Instagram, some fans opined that Billings was the best pick.
"Billings the best pick in my opinion," a fan wrote.
"Surprised yall made that many picks, but great picks nonetheless. Monique Billings life keeps getting better lol," another fan wrote.
Some fans were happy for the former Aces player Kate Martin.
"I’m beyond excited for Kate Martin!," one wrote.
"So excited for Kate!!! 🔥🔥🔥 gonna need to pick up some height, hopefully with betts 🙌," another posted.
Some fans wrote that they wanted Hailey Van Lith and JuJu Watkins in Valkyrie jersey.
"I want HVL and Juju in a jersey," one worte.
One fan hilarioulsy wrote that they want the Valkyrie to draft New York Liberty's mascot, Ellie the Elephant.
"Mascot next?! let’s draft @bigellieliberty," the fan wrote.
Some sounded hopeful that the Valkyrie could make the playoffs next season.
"We have length and speed, I'm excited!!," one wrote.
"This team can easily make the playoffs this year! 🔥🔥," another posted.
Kate Martin's former Iowa teammate Jada Gyamfi hypes up her Valkyrie move
Not just fans were happy for Kate Martin after being picked up by the Golden State Valkyrie in the WNBA Expansion Draft on Friday. Soon after the move, Martin's former Las Vegas Aces teammate A'ja Wilson and her former Iowa teammate Jada Gyamfi sent shoutouts to Martin.
Calling Martin a "gem", Wilson, the three-time WNBA MVP made a post on her Instagram story dedicated to her.
"My baby 🥹 soooo happy for you 🤍 you are a gem."
"Now we gotta give you and Nat 50 😂😂," Wilson added.
Jada Gyamfi also took to social media to send a big shoutout to the WNBA player. She reposted a post by the Valkyries on her Instagram story and added a big caption in the post.
"OOOOWEEEEE BABYYYY 😍😍," Jada wrote. "Gonna stock up on some purple 💜💜💜💜."
Martin appeared in 34 games for the Las Vegas Aces in her rookie season. However, she didn't find good minutes on the floor, averaging only 11.5 minutes in the season. Her minutes also impacted her production on the floor, as she averaged only 2.6 points, 1.6 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 0.2 steals per game.
Selected by the Valkyrie, Martin will hope to find good minutes for herself. She didn't get enough time on the floor getting accustomed to the WNBA. However, she will be compete against other WNBA stars in the inugral "Unrivaled" league in January next year that will help prepare her for the next season.
