Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese had a busy Sunday as she went to SoFi Stadium to watch the LA Rams beat the San Francisco 49ers. Reese shared a sideline moment with Super Bowl champion and fellow LSU alum Andrew Whitworth.
The Rams shared a photo of Reese and Whitworth on X from their sideline meetup. They both held the L-hand gesture to show their Tigers pride in Los Angeles.
Whitworth, an offensive tackle, played the final five seasons of his career with the Rams and helped the team win the Super Bowl title in 2021.
"Bayou Barbie + Big Whit in the house!" the Rams tweeted.
The LSU legends might have brought a little luck to the Los Angeles Rams, who came from behind in the fourth quarter to beat the San Francisco 49ers. Kicker Joshua Karty scored seven points in the final period, including a 37-yard field goal with two seconds left to win the game 27-24.
Angel Reese and Andrew Whitworth won titles for LSU
After two seasons at Maryland, Angel Reese transferred to LSU and immediately made an impact.
Reese led the Tigers to their first-ever national championship after beating Caitlin Clark and Iowa in the final last year. She left the program in 2024 and was drafted into the WNBA.
Meanwhile, Andrew Whitworth played the majority of his college career under coach Nick Saban. Whitworth was part of the 2003 team that won a college football championship. He was drafted in the second round by the Cincinnati Bengals.
Whitworth spent 11 years with the Bengals and established himself as a solid offensive tackle, being named to three Pro Bowls there. Coincidentally, the Rams defeated Cincinnati at Super Bowl LVI to win the championship.
Angel Reese recently filmed a new episode of her podcast featuring NBA legend
As part of her early offseason, Angel Reese has focused on filming new episodes for her "Unapologetically Angel" podcast. Reese recently shared that one of her future guests was Hall of Famer and Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade.
Wade is a part-owner of the Chicago Sky, so Reese was interviewing one of her bosses. He's a Chicago native and even played for the Bulls for one season in the latter part of his career.
Reese's season ended prematurely with six games left after suffering an injury to her shooting hand. She underwent surgery and was expected to make a full recovery in time for her debut at the newly launched Unrivaled League.
The Sky faltered without Reese, failing to secure the eighth and final playoff spot. They have a lot of work to do, but the team has plenty of potential with players such as Reese, Kamilla Cardoso and Chennedy Carter.
