Angel Reese is getting ready for the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game. The Chicago Sky star remains a hot topic in the league after a notable first half of the season. The big reward for her was an All-Star selection during her rookie campaign and Reese is bracing for a big weekend.
To honor the big day, she's bringing the fire and unveiling new custom Reebok shoes for the first night of the 2024 All-Star Weekend.
The Chicago Sky's Instagram page shared a series of pictures showing Reese at today's shootaround. She was seen speaking with teammates, smiling to the camera and laughing.
Some of these pics showed her wearing another special edition of the Reebok shoes. The kicks have orange, purple, pink and a little bit of blue in their design.
Angel Reese is having a sweet start to her weekend, being $100 richer after beating Caitlin Clark and the rest of the WNBA players due to a half-court shot in front of Clark.
She took to social media to show off the win, thanking Arike Ogunbowale for not taking part in the contest. Reese skipped to acknowledge Clark after making that shot, which contrasts a lot with what the Indiana Fever player had to say about her.
Angel Reese was offered two special shoes for the WNBA All-Star Game
Earlier this month, SoLegitCustoms' Marvin Baroota, who has worked on the designs Reese has worn, teased that he would work on another special edition. This, he said, would take inspiration from Angel Reese saying she didn't mind becoming a villain in the WNBA.
After fans wondered what Baroota would do for this special event, he had a clear answer.
"it’s been in the works, knew this was gonna happen. might have 2 pairs swap at halftime. 🤫🤐," Baroota shared on X.
Reese liked that idea and replied with one word to it.
Angel Reese missed the WNBA All-Star Orange Carpet
After being selected to her first WNBA All-Star Game, Reese confirmed that she's one of the most exciting talents in the league. That's why a lot of people were shocked when she didn't show up to the All-Star Orange Carpet and chose to attend an NBA Summer League game.
"Angel just pissed me off. Your first all star event as a rookie and you still in vegas at a f*****g summer league game?????? good f*****g night man," wrote a fan on X.
"It’s ok babe. I’m minding the business that PAYS me," replied Reese.
Angel Reese is set to play with the WNBA Team this Saturday. She may not have graced the Orange Carpet, but she will certainly unleash her potential on the court.
