Coming off one of the most impressive runs in women's college basketball history, Caitlin Clark has entered the WNBA ranks. As she continues to navigate her first year as a pro, she was honored with her own line of signature basketballs.
On Tuesday, the sports equipment brand "Wilson" unveiled their line of basketballs that are fully centered around Clark. There are four in total, each with a significant meaning.
The first ball is "3951," the number of points Clark scored during her time at Iowa. In the Wilson name on the ball, her handwriting can be seen with the words "get a basketball scholarship" written.
Next up is "Repetition," a nod to the endless hours Clark has put in to perfect her craft. The ball is black and gold, the same colors as Iowa. It also features triangles that form the number 22. This is in connection to Clark's jersey number and her impressive outside shooting.
The "Ascent" ball is black and white and has Caitlin Clark's signature embedded into it. This one has an alternating pattern to signify her jump from college to the WNBA.
Clark's signature line of basketballs ends with "Highlight reel." This one is white and gold and features a photo of her attempting a three-point shot.
For those looking to purchase any piece from this signature line, they can be found on Wilson's website. Here is a breakdown of the pricing for each ball.
- "3951" - $99.95
- "Repetition" - $24.95
- "Ascent" - $39.95
- "Highlight Reel" - $49.95
WNBA analyst picks Caitlin Clark for Rookie of the Year over Angel Reese
At the start of the season, Caitlin Clark was seen as the clear favorite to win Rookie of the Year. However, many have argued on Angel Reese's behalf in recent weeks, closing the gap on the two first-year players.
Earlier this week, WNBA and NBA analyst Rachel Nichols shared her thoughts on the ROY race this season. She is giving the nod to Clark, citing her team's overall success as the driving factor.
"To me, Caitlin Clark is the Rookie of the Year right now," Nichols said. "Her team is on pace to finish a lot better this year than it did last year. Meaning she has impacted the overall state of the team."
Clark has put together strong all-around numbers for the Indiana Fever, averaging 16.1 points, 6.0 rebounds and 7.4 assists. Over the weekend, she etched her name in the history books by becoming the first WNBA rookie to record a triple-double.
As for the Fever, they are in ninth place in the standings with a 9-13 record. They are already closing in on matching their win total from last season (13) at just the midway point in the year.
