Former Hawkeyes and now WNBA players Caitlin Clark and Kate Martin not only received their Big Ten and Final Four rings when they returned to Iowa for their homecoming event last week, but they also brought joy to young patients at the University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children's Hospital.

The two athletes spent time doing Halloween-themed arts and crafts with the children at the hospital, coloring alongside them and spreading cheer.

The hospital shared snapshots of the special moments on its Instagram page. Take a look below.

During the homecoming celebration, the Hawkeyes were honored for their Big Ten Tournament title and their run to the Final Four, marking their second consecutive appearance in the championship game.

Clark and Martin proudly showed off their rings, with Iowa’s athletic department and the women’s basketball team’s Instagram accounts posting photos of the pair and captioning them:

"Ring ‘em 💍"

These rings, designed to celebrate their accomplishments, are encrusted with diamonds. The Big Ten Tournament ring is gold and features the trophy along with “Back to Back to Back,” representing their three consecutive titles. The Final Four ring, in silver, has “Final Four” engraved and showcases the Hawkeyes’ logo prominently on the front.

Caitlin Clark joined the WNBA this season with her former Iowa teammate, Kate Martin.

In Martin’s final season with the Hawkeyes, she averaged career highs with 13.1 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game, shooting an impressive 50.7%. She supported Clark, who led the team with 31.6 ppg, 8.9 apg and 7.4 rpg.

Both players entered the 2024 WNBA Draft, with Caitlin Clark selected first by the Indiana Fever and Kate Martin taken 18th by the Las Vegas Aces.

In September, Clark shared her thoughts on hosting Martin and the Aces in Indiana:

“It’s definitely fun for us, it’s fun for a lot of fans in the Midwest that cheered us on while we were in college. It’s cool to see one of your best friends live out her dream.”

Clark established herself as one of the league’s standout players, earning First Team All-WNBA honors, taking home Rookie of the Year and setting records in assists and 3-point shooting.

Martin averaged 2.6 ppg and 1.6 rpg in her first season with the Aces. She is set to participate in the Unrivaled Basketball League in January.
