Connecticut Sun guard DiJonai Carrington shared mirror selfies before heading to a Halloween costume party, where she dressed as "Lola Bunny" and enjoyed a hookah night with friends.
She posted two selfies on her Instagram Stories, one as she was getting ready and another in her Lola Bunny outfit, followed by a video from the party.
DiJonai Carrington earned the Most Improved Player award this past season and averaged 12.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. She played a key role in helping the Connecticut Sun make the playoffs, eliminating Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever in the first round.
However, they were knocked out by the Minnesota Lynx in the next round.
DiJonai Carrington hits back at X user who insulted her
DiJonai Carrington, known for her fierce competitiveness on the court and her strong presence on social media, has been the target of online criticism and trolling.
On Wednesday, she clapped back at a fan who insulted her appearance and called her life pathetic.
“Youre ugly. you look like a man in a wig. youre bitter and jealous and you will bow down for the rest of your pathetic, ugly life,” the user wrote.
She responded with a Bible verse.
“1 Peter 3:9-12 🥰😘 Jesus loves you!!!” -Dijonai Carrington on X.
The Bible verse she referenced to reads:
"Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing."
DiJonai Carrington to play in Unrivaled league
Carrington is set to participate in the Unrivaled Basketball League, a 3-on-3 women's league founded by WNBA stars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, which kicks off on Jan. 17, 2025, in Miami. Carrington was announced as the 19th player to join the league.
The league will feature teams like the Laces, Lunar Owls, Mist, Rose, Phantom and Vinyl, and it aims to become the highest-paying women's professional sports league in history.
Some of the players who will be part of its first season are Stewart, Collier, Carrington, Chelsea Gray, Arike Ogunbowale, Jewell Loyd, Kelsey Plum, Rhyne Howard, Kahleah Copper, Jackie Young, Angel Reese, Satou Sabally, Natasha Cloud, Allisha Gray, Paige Bueckers, Dearica Hamby, Marina Mabrey, Kayla McBride, Skylar Diggins-Smith, Rickea Jackson, Courtney Vandersloot, Brittney Sykes, Shakira Austin, Tiffany Hayes, Brittney Griner, Azura Stevens and Courtney Williams.
