Earlier this summer, ESPN's Monica McNutt got engaged to her now fiancé, Justin Jackson. As the two get closer to enjoying their special day, they appear to be enjoying some form of vacation.
Over the weekend, McNutt posted a series of photos on her Instagram story of her and Jackson. The first was a heartfelt photo overlooking a body of water, where she stated the countdown to their wedding day had begun.
With her second post, McNutt decided to have some more fun. She is dancing on Jackson while he stands behind her, looking slightly surprised.
Similar to McNutt, Jackson also works within the scope of professional basketball. He serves as a director for the National Basketball Players Association. Before this, he worked for the Houston Rockets, helping behind the scenes with strength and conditioning.
According to reports, the couple met through a friend they shared back in 2019. Five years later, they are now on track to getting married. McNutt and Jackson are set to tie the knot later this summer.
Monica McNutt speaks on WNBA Rookie of the Year race
One of the biggest topics in the WNBA right now is the Rookie of the Year debate between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese. While speaking with Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo Sports, Monica McNutt chimed in with her thoughts.
McNutt didn't end up picking a clear side, but she feels that Clark and Reese both have a shot at winning. During her conversation with Goodwill, she spoke about what each rookie has been able to do this year.
"Both are doing historic things, so when you look at this Rookie of the Year thing, to me it's just what do you value," McNutt said. "Caitlin's offense, the first triple-double as a rookie, she's been trending upward."
"What Angel is doing, breaking the double-double streak as a rookie, you feel her presence defensively. That also has impact."
With a little less than 20 games to go in the season, many people have argued for each player to win the award. Clark and Reese have managed to set themselves apart from the pack, each being named to the All-Star team.
Along with becoming the first rookie to record a triple-double, Clark set a new WNBA record with 19 assists in one game. As for Reese, she is posting averages of 13.5 points and 11.9 rebounds.
As these two continue what have been impressive rookie campaigns, McNutt's main point is that people shouldn't have a definitive answer at this stage.
