Caitlin Clark, Napheesa Collier and more players paid homage to Minnesota Lynx legend Maya Moore ahead of her jersey retirement. The iconic No. 23 is going up to the rafters tonight, as the Lynx take on the Indiana Fever.

Moore was a big inspiration for several players who came after her, and it wasn't a surprise to see the Lynx rock her jersey ahead of this game. MVP candidate Napheesa Collier, Dorka Juhasz, Natisha Hiedeman and Alanna Smith were among the players who rocked Moore's jersey before the ceremony.

Moreover, Caitlin Clark of the Fever, the Lynx's opponent, didn't waste the chance to rock the Maya Moore retirement shirt. She was spotted wearing it during Saturday's shootaround.

This will be a clash between two hot teams in the WNBA. The Lynx have the have the third-best record in the entire league (21-8) and a win tonight would put them closer to the New York Liberty (25-4) and Connecticut Sun (21-7) in the playoff race.

As for the Fever, they are two games away from the .500 mark and a win today would be important for their playoff hopes. Indiana has won two of its last three games, and right before the All-Star break, it beat the Lynx 81-74 at Target Center in a thrilling game.

Caitlin Clark named Maya Moore her idol

This game was special for Caitlin Clark, a big Maya Moore fan as a kid, as soon as she learned the Lynx scheduled this big event for tonight. Back in July she couldn't hide her excitement about this game and said that it would be a full-circle moment in her basketball journey.

"I was super excited when I saw that that was the game they were gonna do it at. She deserves it, I know the fans will be absolutely incredible," Clark said.
"If you would've told me as a young kid that I'd be playing in the game that her jersey is retired at, it's kinda full circle for me too. She was my favorite player ever growing up and that was who I loved watching. She was like my LeBron James as a kid. To just be in the building that night and to say I got to play in that game is super cool."

Maya Moore is one of the greatest players in WNBA history. She led the Lynx to four league titles in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017. She marked a golden era for this team and while she did it, younger players like Clark fell in love with her game.
