Taurasi, the WNBA's all-time leading scorer, and Taylor, a former Australian Olympian, were both drafted by the Phoenix Mercury in 2004 and quickly became close friends. Over the years, they competed against each other in the Olympics and supported each other through personal milestones.

After their 2017 wedding, Taurasi shared with People magazine how special the day was:

"It was the most amazing and beautiful day of our lives," Taurasi said. "To be able to share our love with family and close friends meant the world to us."

Since then, the couple has grown their family, welcoming two children: Leo Michael Taurasi-Taylor in 2018 and Isla Taurasi-Taylor in 2021.

Diana Taurasi honored with state-of-the-art basketball court named after her

The Phoenix Mercury honored Diana Taurasi, who has spent her entire career with the team, with a state-of-the-art practice facility in downtown Phoenix named in her honor.

The 58,000-square-foot, $100 million facility features two full-sized basketball courts named after Taurasi, complete with a unique Taurasi-inspired logo.

Taurasi, one of the oldest active WNBA players, has become a three-time WNBA champion since being drafted by the Mercury in 2004.

“This practice facility is about hard work, passion, and greatness, all attributes that Diana Taurasi exemplifies, and we are honored to name our basketball courts after the greatest women’s basketball player of all time,” said Phoenix Suns and Mercury owner Matt Ishbia.

Players and staff have 24/7 access to the facility, which includes two indoor practice courts with built-in performance analytics, a strength and cardio training area, turf training areas, a functional movement area and a team meeting room.

For recovery, the facility offers a physician room, recovery room, hydrotherapy room with plunge pools, an underwater treadmill and two massage rooms. The locker room features vanity stations, a sauna, a steam room and a wellness room.

A player lounge with a full kitchen, private chef, snack bar, pantry and smoothie/nutrition bar is also available.

Throughout her career, Taurasi has achieved remarkable milestones: three-time WNBA champion, six-time Olympian, 11-time WNBA All-Star and the WNBA’s all-time leading scorer with 10,447 points, almost 3,000 points ahead of second place.

Taurasi was also named in the USA's National Women's Basketball squad set to compete in the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics.
