The Indiana Fever took on the Dallas Wings at College Park Center in Arlington, Texas on the final day of the first half of the WNBA regular season. Caitlin Clark made history once again on Wednesday night, but the Fever fell short against the Wings 101-93 after a hard-fought contest.
Dallas took an early lead in the first quarter and dictated the tempo the entire first half. Indiana came back in the third period to make the game close up until the final two minutes of the fourth quarter.
The game was tied at 93-93, but the Wings executed their game plan as they had an 8-0 run to close it out. It's a huge win for Dallas since they were at the bottom of the WNBA standings before tip-off.

Aliyah Boston had another big game for the Indiana Fever with 28 points, eight rebounds and four blocks on 11-for-14 shooting. NaLyssa Smith added a double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Kelsey Mitchell also scored 13 points.
However, it was Caitlin Clark who stole the show despite the loss. Clark had 24 points, six rebounds and 19 assists on 10-for-19 shooting. The 19 assists are the most by a player in a single game in WNBA history, breaking Courtney Vandersloot's record set back in 2020.

Arike Ogunbowale led the way for the Dallas Wings in their much-needed victory. Ogunbowale had 24 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and three steals, while Odyssey Sims also scored 24 points with nine assists.
It was a total team effort for the Wings with six players scoring in double figures. But the main difference was Kalani Brown, who scored 13 points off the bench. Natasha Howard also had a big game with 17 points, seven rebounds, eight assists, four steals and two blocks.
What's next for the Indiana Fever and Dallas Wings?
The Indiana Fever and Dallas Wings will join the rest of the WNBA in taking a break for the All-Star Weekend and the 2024 Paris Olympics. However, some players such as Indiana's Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston and Dallas' Arike Ogunbowale will be in the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game.
Both teams will have around a month of rest plus time to improve on whatever they need to for the second half of the season. The Fever are currently in a playoff position and would like to maintain it, while the Wings are near the bottom of the standings and would possibly want to change it.
Indiana is back in action on Aug. 16 against the Phoenix Mercury at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. On the other hand, Dallas will face the Connecticut Sun on the same day at home inside College Park Center.
