The Indiana Fever vs Washington Mystics WNBA showdown took place tonight. The Fever are on a three-game road trip and will end it on June 10 against the Connecticut Sun. The Mystics, on the other hand, are ending their three-game home stand tonight before taking on the New York Liberty on the road.
Indiana outscored Washington in the first quarter with 28 points and held the Mystics to only 19 points. Washington got back to the game in the second period and scored 21 points. The Fever didn't have enough momentum to end the first half and only registered 14 points in the second.
After the first half, Fever's star rookie Caitlin Clark already had 10 points and gave the team a two-point lead into the half.

The second half was where both teams started to play intensely. The game was close since the third period and were equal in their points. Both the Fever and the Mystics scored 24 points in the third quarter. Clark added nine points in her total during the third period and had 19 points in three quarters.
For the Mystics, it was Stefanie Dolson who did everything she could to keep the game close. She finished the game with 19 points and made nine threes in the game. Dolson was highly efficient from the field and knocked down seven of her ten shots from the floor.
Ariel Atkins did her best to contribute to the game. Unfortunately, her inefficiency wasn't helpful to the squad. The guard finished with 16 points but shot horribly from the field. She only made seven of her 21 attempts from the field.
Both teams were neck-and-neck in scoring, similar to their third-period performance. The Fever and Mystics scored 19 points apiece in the final quarter of the game. But the visiting team prevailed and stayed on top at the final buzzer. Indiana won, 85-83.
The Indiana Fever vs Washington Mystics game went down to the wire and it was a night to remember for Clark. She finished the game with 30 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Although she had eight turnovers in the game, her offensive performance overshadowed the errors she had in the game.
The former Iowa star made seven threes in the game, close to the league's record of nine. Clark made it rain and made the defense pay with her shooting performance.
The next game for Indiana will be against Connecticut as they look to end their road trip on a high note. For Washington, they'll travel to Brooklyn to play New York.
