Aaliyah Edwards has been unavailable as she deals with a back injury. With being listed as day-to-day, the door is open for her to return against the Sun. Edwards will likely go through warmups before the Mystics coaching staff makes a final decision on her status.

Before getting injured, Edwards played in 15 games for the Mystics. In that span, she averaged 8.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists. Her best individual performance came a few weeks back against the Chicago Sky. In 35 minutes of action, Edwards recorded 23 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks.

Aaliyah Edwards shows love to latest Washington draft pick

In April, the Washington Mystics selected Aaliyah Edwards with the sixth overall pick in the WNBA draft. On Wednesday night, she issued a warm welcome to the latest young talent getting ready to represent Washington.

In this year's NBA draft, the Washington Wizards found themselves with the No. 2 pick. They ended up taking one of the more exciting prospects from the 2024 class, French big man Alex Sarr.

Sarr is a seven-footer with lots of athleticism. While playing in the United States briefly, he spent the past year suiting up for the Perth Wildcats in Australia.

Among those to react to the Wizards' selection of Sarr was Aaliyah Edwards. She posted on social media to welcome Sarr to D.C., as he begins his professional journey in the U.S.

Before being drafted by the Mystics, Edwards spent four years in college playing for UConn.
