WNBA fans had a lot to say about the Indiana Fever's Halloween post and the costume they picked for Caitlin Clark. The 2024 Rookie of the Year was featured as a soccer player, but her uniform was a modification of the Fever's. The picture also featured NaLyssa Smith, Erica Wheeler and Aliyah Boston.
This post is making the rounds on X (formerly Twitter), but fans weren't feeling the team's vision for this edit. Some fans criticized Clark's costume selection, noting that it made no sense that she was wearing her uniform.
"This is fryinggggg me why is Caitlin still in her jersey😭😭," one fan said.
"Why is Caitlin dressed like Caitlin?" another fan questioned.
"Why is Caitlin dressed up as Caitlin? 😂" another fan asked.
Others joked about former Fever coach Christie Sides dressed as Caitlin Clark while offering alternatives to the rookie.
"Is that Christie Sides dressing up as Caitlin?" one fan questioned.
Clark, as usual, is the main character in this edit. The former No. 1 overall pick has a curious relationship with Halloween. She said her mother preserves a tradition in Des Moines whenever kids go trick or treat.
Caitlin Clark revealed Halloween tradition her mom still treasures
One of the best things about Caitlin Clark is her sense of humor. According to former coach Christie Sides, she is funny, but when the guard was asked about her jokes, she revealed that she wasn't the best person to tell jokes and that her mother asked kids to tell her a joke if they wanted to get candy on Halloween.
"I don't have a joke," Clark said. "I don't really tell jokes like that. In Des Moines, this is actually kind of crazy, but when we trick-or-treat, you have to tell a joke to earn your candy. I guess no other place really does that in the country, so when you knock on the door, you have to tell a joke.
"I know my mom's a stickler about it. Like, if you don't tell any joke, you're not getting any candy."
Now, fans could be waiting to see if Caitlin Clark will celebrate this day and come up with a costume idea better than her team's.
