Angel Reese's popularity continued to soar this WNBA offseason, topped off by an appearance on the cover of Vogue magazine. However, Jalen Rose's daughter, Mariah Rose, isn't a fan of the Chicago Sky star's stint with the popular publication.
In a TikTok post, Rose criticized Vogue for how they didn't let Reese be like herself in her photos for the magazine. Rose went off on how the publication wasn't using the right style, background, colors and more to make the WNBA star stand out.
"I'm so happy for Angel," Mariah said. "I'm so happy a WNBA player’s on the cover of Vogue. ... Angel Reese is a beautiful girl and she looks beautiful in these photos. I'm no photographer, no creative director, no stylist, but I just feel like these styling choices these backgrounds, and this lighting didn't do my girl justice."
Mariah Rose also pointed out other photoshoots involving Angel Reese, including her graduation, media day for the Chicago Sky and more. Mariah was more impressed with Reese's glow-up in those photos than in her Vogue appearance.
Reese joined Olympic track star Gabby Thomas as the cover models for Vogue's winter issue. The Sky star's popularity and status as a fashion icon are highlighted by her latest accomplishment.
However, Reese continues to prepare for Unrivaled's inaugural season, which starts on Jan. 17 in Miami. She has been working out in Florida and practiced with her Rose BC teammates. She even went viral for making a comfortable layup from a pass by Chelsea Gray.
Reese is one of 36 players in the Unriveld roster, which is divided into six teams. The season will last for two months, ending on March 17, roughly two months before the start of the 2025 WNBA season.
Angel Reese reveals her secret to glowing skin even during WNBA games
Angel Reese told Vogue her secrets for glowing skin. She shared that the Korean brand Laneige is her go-to skincare product even when she's playing or on the bench.
"I don't go nowhere without my Laneige," Reese said. "I have all of it. I have the Sleeping Mask. This is the one I always throw in my purse. I keep my Laneige on the bench. That's the key. Whenever I get back to the bench (during) time-outs, the Laneige is on."
Despite her rising popularity, Reese has faced a lot of hate and backlash online. She deactivated her Instagram after receiving negative comments about her New Year's Eve outfit. It lasted a few days before she was back on the platform.
