During the first round of the 2024 WNBA Playoffs, Caitlin Clark was hit in the eye by Connecticut Sun player DiJonai Carrington. While Carrington was attempting to play the passing lanes and swat away a pass thrown by Clark, she hit the Fever star in the eye with her follow-through motion on the swipe. The result was that Clark was left with a bit of a bruise around her eye.
While Clark said that the blow wasn't intentional, and she laughed off post-game questions about whether Carrington meant to hit her eye, fans have continued to discuss the situation. In a video for social media, Jalen Rose's daughter Mariah called out Clark's fans for their behavior towards Carrington.
In a video that runs nearly four whole minutes, Rose discusses the 2025 WNBA schedule that just dropped. From the arrival of Paige Bueckers to the Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese matchup that will kick off the 2025 season, Rose said that there's plenty of tea.
When discussing the Fever's scheduled game against the Sun on May 30, Rose said that Clark's fans were editing photos of Carrington's face onto George Floyd and editing Clark's face onto Derek Chauvin, the police officer who killed Floyd.
"If you know anything about the WNBA, you know that Caitlin Clark's fans were absolutely evil last year. Like, I was calling them the 'Caitlin Clark Klux Klan.'"
"But people got mad at me, and nobody got it worse from them than DiJonai Carrington. They were editing her face on the pictures of George Floyd and editing Caitlin Clark's face onto the picture of the cop who... Yeah.."

Connecticut Sun is raising the stakes for the game vs. Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever
As Mariah Rose explained in her video covering the 2025 WNBA season ahead, the Connecticut Sun is upping the stakes this season. Given the attention surrounding the team's rivalry with Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever, they have moved their July 15 home game against Indiana to the TD Garden.
The game will mark the third meeting between the two teams this season, after games in Indiana on May 30 and June 17. On top of the fact that the game will be played at the TD Garden, it will also be a major affair given that newly-appointed Fever coach Stephanie White will be back in the area for the first time.
"The Sun were like, 'let's spice it up.' And they are going to be moving their game against the Indiana Fever to TD Garden, which is where the Boston Celtics play, like it is a huge super historic iconic arena, so there will be a huge crowd."
"And on top of that, the Sun's old coach who won Coach of the Year, is now the coach of the Indiana Fever. So they're also going to be playing against their old coach. And DiJonai is already expressing her excitement about it on social media."
Following the July 15 game at the TD Garden, the two teams will play once more before the end of the season on August 17 when they face off in Connecticut.
