DiJonai Carrington was head over heels in love with her girlfriend Nalyssa Smith's new look. The Connecticut Sun defensive player, who faced her girlfriend in the first round of the playoffs, was seen gushing over Smith's new video on X.
In a post that was put out by '@DiJonai Carrington defender', Smith was seen driving in her new look, with a completely different hairstyle. She was driving while wearing a white T-shirt. Carrington couldn't hold back and came up with an adorable comment on the post.
“Jus fell to my knees, good lawddddd🫠🫠🫠😍😍😍😍🥹,” Carrington wrote.
It looks like the couple are in the perfect place after the early exit of Smith and the Indiana Fever in the first round. Interestingly, it was Carrington and the Sun who swept off the Fever.
While Smith is enjoying a little bit of ride after the early exit in the WNBA postseason, Carrington and the Sun are facing the Minnesota Lynx in the second round of the playoffs.
The semifinal between Lynx and the Sun is currently tied at 1-1. The winner of the series will face the winner of the Las Vegas Aces vs New York Liberty semifinals in the WNBA Finals.
NaLyssa Smith hails Dijonai Carrington making WNBA All-Defensive First Team
Dijonai Carrington not only had the best defensive year of her career in the WNBA, but it was also her best season since being drafted by the Connecticut Sun in 2021.
In her fourth season in the league, Carrington made her first WNBA All-Defensive Team, that too the First Team, and won the Most Improved Player Award too.
Nobody was happier for Carrington than her girlfriend NaLyssa Smith. The Fever forward took to her social media to drop a major shoutout to her girlfriend.
Retweeting WNBA's All-Defensive Team on X, Smith pointed out that Carrington was the only guard player in it.
"only guard on 1st team 🤭🤭," Smith wrote.
The team included four other names with all-time great records in the history books. They were Minnesota Lynx player Napheesa Collier, Las Vegas Aces' A'ja Wilson, New York Liberty's Breanna Stewart and Seattle Storm's Ezi Magbegor.
Collier is the 2024 Defensive Player of the Year. Wilson and Stewart are all-time greats when it comes to playing basketball on both ends of the floor. Ezi Magbegor made the All-Defensive Team for the third time in her career.
