Kamilla Cardoso drops adorable reaction to picture with NLE Choppa

Kamilla Cardoso started her rookie season a little late, but the Chicago Sky center has been nothing less than a star for her team. In the 2024 WNBA draft, she was one of the most recognizable faces of college athletes even outside the basketball world. Posing with the rookie star earlier Thursday was American rapper NLE Choppa.

The Memphis rapper posted a selfie with Cardoso on X, formerly known as Twitter. He was in Chicago and met her.

“Look who I bumped into the other day in Chicago,” the rapper wrote.

Kamilla Cardoso also showed much love to the rapper. Reposting his update on X, Cardoso reacted with two hearts-on-the-face emojis.

The Sky rookie might not be playing as many minutes as the starters, but her stats are a clear recognition of her talent as a future star. Early in the season, Cardoso displayed her elite presence on the boards and her skills on defense.

In 26.2 minutes, Kamilla Cardoso has posted 7.8 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game. The Sky center is also putting in 8.2 points per game while shooting 46.1%.

Kamilla Cardoso showers love on her college coach, Dawn Staley

Dawn Staley has established her position as a legend both as a player and as a coach. One of the most decorated coaches in college basketball, she is not just great at winning titles but also producing WNBA stars, from A’Ja Wilson and Aliyah Boston to Tiffany Mitchell.

Kamilla Cardoso is the latest big name who saw tremendous growth under the legendary coach. The 2024 NCAA Division I Most Outstanding Player showed her love for her college coach on her X handle.

Staley was given the “Award For Perseverance” at the ESPYs earlier this month. Sending a shoutout to its coach, the USC Gamecocks X handle wrote:

“No better example, leader, dream merchant than our Dawn Staley.”

Reacting to the post, Cardoso wrote:

“You’re are so deserving @dawnstaley 🤩🤩 I love you ❤️❤️❤️.”

Kamilla Cardoso won two NCAA Division I titles with the South Carolina Gamecocks in 2022 and 2024. Staley has won three national championships as a coach. She led her team to the championship for the first time in 2017 with A’Ja Wilson as the MOP.
