Las Vegas Aces guard Kate Martin is enjoying the WNBA offseason, spending time with her girlfriend Claire Gransee. She recently shared a photo of them on social media.
The 24-year-old Iowa standout took to her Instagram stories to share a photo of her and Gransee cozying up in a mirror selfie, and marked it with a heart.
Check out a screenshot of her post below:
Kate Martin and Gransee met in Iowa where they both attended college. They made their relationship public in June.
Gransee graduated with a degree in Communications Studies and currently works for Boston-based recruitment agency Beacon Hill Technologies as per her LinkedIn profile. She is also active on Instagram and has over 23,000 followers.
Kate Martin, meanwhile, played in her rookie season in the last WNBA campaign after being selected in the second round of the 2024 draft by the Aces following a solid collegiate career with the Hawkeyes.
She played in 34 games and had averages of 2.6 points and 1.6 rebounds in 11.5 minutes per game. While she had limited minutes in a stacked Las Vegas roster, the team viewed her as being part of what it wanted to build moving forward.
Kate Martin prepares for inaugural Unrivaled season
Apart from spending quality time with girlfriend Claire Gransee during the WNBA break, Kate Martin is also preparing for her scheduled participation in the inaugural season of the newly formed Unrivaled Basketball League set to tip off in January in Miami, Florida.
Martin is one of over 30 WNBA players set to see action in the 3-on-3 league co-founded by WNBA stars Breanna Stewart of the reigning champions New York Liberty and Napheesa Collier of the Minnesota Lynx.
She is part of the Laces Basketball Club, joined by Kayla McBride (Lynx), Alyssa Thomas (Connecticut Sun), Courtney Williams (Lynx) and Stefanie Dolson (Washington Mystics). Her Las Vegas Aces teammate Kelsey Plum was also drafted to play with the team but had to pull out recently to give more time for herself during the WNBA break.
Unrivaled will feature six competing teams in its maiden season. It was established to give women's professional basketball players a viable option to showcase their talents while earning good money at the same time.
It will run for three months, beginning on Jan. 17 with games brodcast live on TNT Sports.
Aside from Kate Martin, other Aces players seeing action at Unrivaled are Jackie Young, Tiffany Hayes and Chelsea Gray.
