Golden State Valkyries star Kate Martin had a humorous exchange with her brother, Trevor Martin, on social media this past Saturday. The former Iowa standout posted a New Year’s message on Instagram that garnered attention from many, including her sibling. The two engaged in some playful banter in the comments section, with Kate hilariously trolling Trevor in response.
Sharing a highlight of her year so far, the former Hawkeyes star shared a collection of images on Instagram featuring the likes of Caitlin Clark and Jada Gyamfi. The nine-slide post featured multiple moments from Martin's year as she captioned it with a short note:
" I’d go everywhere with these folks, including into year ‘25 #newyearswag" she wrote.
Kate's brother Trevor was one of the few to comment on her post as he took a shot at the new Valkyries star.
"I definitely showed u this song," he wrote.
Despite Trevor's snarky comments, Kate had the last laugh as she trolled her brother back with a simple two-word response:
"@tmart22 you wish" she wrote.
The sibling's friendly jibe stemmed from Kate Martin's use of Fleetwood Mac's song "Everywhere" on her post which also featured Trevor on a boat alongside his sister.
Caitlin Clark sends love to Kate Martin's recent post featuring her
Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark joined Kate Martin's brother in the comments section of his sister's post on Saturday. Kate and Clark enjoyed a successful time during their tenure with Iowa.
Martin shared several images in her New Year's post, which also featured Caitlin kissing the Hawkeyes' mascot, Henry while former teammates Gabbie Marshall and Monika Czinano posed beside her. Clark responded to Katie's post with a simple one-word reply.
"Love" she wrote.
Clark had a reliable teammate in Martin, who also served as team captain during Clark's first few years with the Hawkeyes. Both are now rivals in the WNBA as Kate hopes to have a good season with the league's latest addition of a new team in Golden State.
