Caitlin Clark has been busy working on her game this offseason with the Indiana Fever, while some of her teammates stayed active locally and overseas. Erica Wheeler, who's playing in Turkey, is keeping tabs on the future of women's basketball and shared it on social media.

In a post on Instagram stories, Wheeler reacted to Ta'Niya Latson's game-winning play for Florida State against North Carolina. Latson received an inbounds pass with 3.5 seconds remaining before faking two UNC defenders out of their shoes.

The third-year guard drove to the basket and made an acrobatic layup for an 86-84 win at the buzzer. It was the Seminoles' 16th win of the season, while the Tar Heels suffered their fourth loss.

"One of them ones!!!! Love to see it!! Keep poppinnnnn! @cbgtaniya," Wheeler wrote in her story.

Ta'Niya Latson had a game-high 25 points to go along with four rebounds and seven assists, while Sydney Bowles added 18 points. Maria Gakdeng put up 21 points and four rebounds for UNC, while Alyssa Ustby dropped 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Erica Wheeler playing in Turkey this offseason

It's not uncommon for WNBA players to join teams abroad to earn more money and remain active ahead of the new season. Erica Wheeler signed for the Nesibe Aydın GSK in Turkey after spending the last three years at BC Polkowice in Poland.

Before her stints in Turkey and Poland, Wheeler also played in Puerto Rico, Brazil, Spain and Russia. She has spent most of her overseas career in Turkey, playing for four different teams.

Wheeler will return to the Indiana Fever next season, serving as their backup point guard. She has also been a mentor to Caitlin Clark and the Fever's other young players, as well as one of the locker-room leaders. Wheeler is in her second stint in Indiana, having playing there between 2016 and 2019.

Caitlin Clark and Kate Martin were teammates for four seasons at Iowa, both entering the WNBA at the same time. Clark was the No. 1 pick last year, while the Las Vegas Aces scooped Martin up in the second round.

Entering the second year of their WNBA careers, Martin will play for the Golden State Valkyries after selecting her in the expansion draft. Despite being on different teams, Clark told the Swarmcast podcast that one of her career goals is to play with Martin in the league.

"I am gonna try to figure that out," Clark said, according to Bolavip. "It's my goal at some point in my career to team up with Kate. We will see if that happens. Don't get too excited."
