A heroic comeback led by A'ja Wilson and Kelsey Plum saw the Las Vegas Aces continue their win streak on Friday night. Trailing by three points going into the fourth quarter against a talented Connecticut Sun side, it took a memorable performance from Wilson to guide her team to a hard-fought 72-67 victory for their fourth consecutive win.

Wilson is the heavy favorite to win her third WNBA MVP crown in just five seasons. During her postgame interview, Plum praised her teammate for a remarkable season, but also made it a point to highlight her kind nature and personality off the court:

"I mean, unanimous MVP, but unanimous MVP as a human being."

Plum called on WNBA fans to take some time to appreciate what they are witnessing. Wilson is one of the league's all-time greats and continues to perform at a high level day after day.

"She's just a light. Just the type of human being she is. Y'all, we really need to cherish what's happening live...We got to celebrate legends as they play," said Plum.

A'ja Wilson and Kelsey Plum combined for 47 of the Aces 72 points, with the former finishing with 20 points on the night. Wilson also chipped in with 8 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks.

Plum has had a chance to see Wilson develop and grow first-hand. The two All-Stars have been teammates since 2018 and went on to win two WNBA titles together in 2022 and 2023.

A'ja Wilson is on the verge of becoming the fourth WNBA player in history to win 3 MVP awards

After another stellar season, A'ja Wilson is in line to win her third MVP award since 2020. That would put the South Carolina native alongside Sheryl Swoopes, Lisa Leslie and Lauren Jackson as the only three-time winners of the prestigious award. It is an incredible feat considering Wilson is still only 28 years old.

The odds of Wilson taking home the coveted prize have shrunk, with most analysts agreeing that the league MVP seems to be a foregone conclusion.

Wilson leads the league with 27.5 points per game. That is nearly a full five points better than the second-ranked Arike Ogunbowale, who is currently averaging 22.6. The Aces center also leads the league in blocks (2.7). She ranks second in rebounds (12.1) and fourth in steals (1.9).
