With WNBA free agency officially underway, Kelsey Plum is one of the most interesting names this offseason. The Las Vegas Aces have extended a qualifying offer, but the All-Star guard could still test the open market.

Now that players can start inking new contracts, ESPN put together a list of best fits for the top WNBA free agency. In the case of Plum, the LA Sparks were brought up as a possible top option for her. It's worth noting that she is a native of California.

The Sparks finished with the WNBA's worst record last year, but are in a position to quickly turn things around. They already have a pair of interesting young players in Rickea Jackson and Cameron Brink. LA will also be adding more talent this offseason after securing the No. 2 pick in the 2025 draft.

In regards to her fit, Plum is a proven star who can lead the charge for a young team on the rise. LA also brought in Lynne Roberts as head coach, who coached against Plum in college.

They might not contend right away, but Kelsey Plum could drastically change the trajectory of the franchise if she were to sign there.

Seattle Storm also listed as possible landing spot for Kelsey Plum in free agency

Following a seven-year run with the Las Vegas Aces, it looks as though Kelsey Plum is going to weigh all her options in free agency. Aside from the LA Sparks, the Seattle Storm have also been brought up as a possible landing spot.

When WNBA free agency got underway, the people at The Athletic provided a list of predictions of how things could unfold. One scenario they brought up was the Aces and Storm swapping Plum and Jewell Loyd.

The primary reasoning for this swap is that Loyd requested a trade from the Storm this offseason. Las Vegas could execute a sign-and-trade with Plum to bring in the All-Star guard. Also, Plum has ties to the Seattle area from her days in college.

The Storm finished fifth last season, giving Plum a better chance of competing right now. She'd also be surrounded by numerous talented players at the top of their game, rather than having to lead a youthful squad.

Plum, 30, is fresh off her third straight All-Star season. In 38 games for the Aces, she averaged 17.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists. She is currently in Miami competing in Unrivaled and recently had her jersey retired by the University of Washington.
