Kevin Durant's mom & Angel Reese post-game link up delights WNBA fans: "She Box Office Right Now"

Chicago Sky standout Angel Reese recently linked up with future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant's mom following a win over the DC Mystics on Thursday. Reese and Durant are both from the greater DC area, which may explain why Durant's mom, Wanda, was in attendance. In addition, Angel Reese has previously dubbed Kevin Durant as her favorite player.

Given that, the NBA/WNBA community was quick to take note of the link-up, which took place on the court following Reese and the Sky's 79-71 win. In addition, the win also moved the Sky into seventh place in the WNBA, snapping a two-game skid and moving them one step closer to the sixth-place Atlanta Dream.

On the flip side, the loss marked the 10th straight for the Mystics, with the team sitting in last place and still yet to win a game this season. In the case of Reese, the star rookie racked up a double-double on the box score in the win, scoring 16 points while hauling down 11 rebounds over 35 minutes.

Footage from after the game showed Reese running over to Durant's mom and giving her a big hug, as seen below.

Recently, when Angel Reese was in attendance at the WNBA draft, she spoke with media members after being drafted by the Chicago Sky. At the time, media members asked the LSU star and NCAA Champion to pick an NBA player as a potential 2-on-2 partner.

Without much hesitation, Reese quickly name-dropped two-time NBA champion Kevin Durant. After some pushback for another name given the number of players before her who also dubbed KD as their ideal teammate, Reese doubled down, explaining:

"I can't. That's my favorite player and he is from DMV, so I can’t pick anyone else."

Note: DMV stands for DC-Maryland-Virginia, the area where Reese and Durant are both from.

While Durant has yet to attend a Chicago Sky game to watch Reese play, the future Hall of Famer notably attended a recent Phoenix Mercury-Dallas Wings game. In addition, Durant has also been an avid supporter of the WNBA for several years now, promoting the league both in word and in action.
