Angel Reese is back in Chicago after roughly two weeks in Europe. The former LSU star joined her teammates to prepare for the second half of the WNBA season. League games were put on hold for a month to give way to Team USA players competing in the Paris Olympics women’s basketball.
Regardless of her location, Reese continues to engage fans on different social media accounts. The Sky rookie was recently asked by an X, formerly Twitter, user to pick between the Baltimore Ravens and Washington Commanders in the NFL. Reese’s response couldn’t be any clearer:
“Ravens DUH.”
Basketball fans who saw her reply promptly reacted:
“Lakers or Celtics ?”
A fan of the only NFL franchise in Chicago didn’t agree with her answer:
“Go Bears!”
Another fan commented:
“Ball knower.”
A Ravens supporter took a sly dig at Reese:
“Rare Angel Reese W”
Reese is a Randallstown, Maryland native, so it’s not surprising she’s picking the Ravens over the Commanders. The Baltimore-based NFL team might be the franchise she roots for in football.
The “Chi Barbie” played high school ball at Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore, which is another reason for her to choose the Ravens. Before becoming a champ at Louisiana, Reese spent two years suiting up for the Maryland Terrapins. Considering her background, it was a no-brainer that she is a big Ravens fan.
Angel Reese hasn’t picked a favorite NBA team or which between the Celtics and Lakers she is rooting for. Fans will be eager to know her answer to that question.
Angel Reese picked Kevin Durant over LeBron James
Leading to the 2024 WNBA Draft, Sports Illustrated put Angel Reese on the hot seat. She was asked to pick one great player over another.
Reese chose Kevin Durant over Candace Parker, A’ja Wilson and LeBron James. Ultimately, she picked Shaquille O’Neal, a fellow LSU alum, as her all-time greatest player.
The former “Bayou Barbie” called O’Neal, who escorted her during her senior day at LSU, a mentor and a “father figure.” The Hall of Famer has also been lavish in her praise of Reese. He named her the greatest LSU athlete ever before signing her to an endorsement deal with Reebok.
Reese explained in an interview with “The Score” why she puts Durant over most players, including James:
“He is my favorite player and he is from DMV.”
Kevin Durant was born in Washington, DC and spent most of his childhood in Prince George’s County in Maryland. Angel Reese values the connection they share from their roots.
Besides coming from roughly the same area, Durant is also a legend in basketball. It was an easy decision for her to pick KD over LeBron James.
