Becky Hammon's track record as head coach of women's hoops had been brief but undeniably impressive. Her two WNBA championships with the Las Vegas Aces are nothing short of inspiring, the type of standard that young female athletes aspire to achieve.

Hammon visited the University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners' locker room on Saturday after their 69-51 victory over the Wichita State Shockers at San Antonio's Convocation Center.

Hammon, who had been an assistant coach for the Spurs for six seasons, took a photo with the team to mark the moment:

"A big THANK YOU to @officialbeckyhammon for swinging by The Convo!" read the caption by the Roadrunners' official Instagram account.

The Roadrunners are currently 5-0 in the American Athletic Conference (AAC). On Saturday, standout performances came from Jordyn Jenkins, who scored 21 points on 52.6% shooting, and Idara Udo, who contributed 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Hammon has had a successful college career, where she played from 1995 to 1999. During her four seasons with the Rams, she set records for scoring, outside shooting, steals, and assists. Her impressive resume, which includes a Sweet Sixteen run and two other NCAA tournament appearances, earned her a spot in the Colorado State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2004.

Becky Hammon comments on NBA star: "It's starting to get ugly"

Hammon went on to join ESPN as a part-time studio analyst in 2022. Since then, she's been joining the panel of shows like "Get Up," "SportsCenter," and "NBA Today."

On the Jan. 7 episode of "NBA Today," Hammon weighed in on the Jimmy Butler debacle unfolding in Miami. It just so happened that she'd seen the star storyline play out during her time in San Antonio:

Hammon drew up this analogy from the late 2010s: "There was a point where I was discussing with some other coaches that I didn't think Kawhi wanted to be in San Antonio anymore. I said, 'He's the girl in the car that is just playing nice until she can get out of that car.' She's done with the date."

As for the Butler situation, the Aces head coach didn't mince any words, saying:

"Right now, it's starting to get ugly."

Over the next few weeks, Hammon may be making another ESPN appearance to comment on a blockbuster update on Butler's next career destination.
