Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese are two of the most influential stars in the WNBA, helping women's basketball grow over the past couple of years. Las Vegas Aces veteran Sydney Colson was not a fan of Jeff Teague's podcast inviting comedian Charleston White, who had some controversial remarks about WNBA players.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Colson called out Teague and his co-hosts DJ Wells and Brandon Hendricks for having White as their most recent guest on their "Club 520" podcast. White made nasty comments about Reese and Brittney Griner, which made the hosts laugh.
Hendricks even tried to downplay the comedian's schtick, claiming they want to be invited to the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis. For those who don't know, Teague and his co-hosts are from the city and their podcast is filmed in a studio there.
"Havin' an ignorant a** sexist on and then actually dropping the episode and then wanting to collab with the W is craaazy work lmao," Colson tweeted.
Charleston White drew some laughs from the "Club 520" podcast hosts when he called out Angel Reese for not having an adult content site account. White even claimed that Brittney Griner should have been left in Russia after Brandon Hendricks mentioned the Phoenix Mercury star's viral pool video a few years back.
DJ Wells praised Caitlin Clark for her influence in the game and explained her difference from Reese. Wells told White that Clark is trying to dispel the notion about some WNBA players by showing her feminine side and having a boyfriend.
The hosts also explained that Reese is showing some skin because she's trying to appeal to the league's male fanbase. Maybe they can invite the Chicago Sky star for a future episode to ask her the question rather than answer for her.
Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see if the WNBA will invite Jeff Teague and his co-hosts to the 2025 All-Star Game. The league and the podcast are sponsored by DraftKings, so there's more than one connection between them besides Indianapolis.
Lamar Jackson praises Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was recently asked about women's basketball in an interview with ESSENCE. Jackson acknowledged that he didn't watch the WNBA before, but Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese swayed him to become a fan.
"Basketball, WNBA, I really wasn't like too fond of women's basketball 'cause I'm like, 'Man, they're not dunking and stuff!'" Jackson said. "But now I’m like, 'Not women dunking?' They got handles! Like women going crazy.' … I'm seeing Angel Reese, I'm seeing all Caitlin. I'm seeing all these girls just go crazy now. ... It's inspiring."
From 20:48 onward:
Reese is from Baltimore, so she's a huge fan of the Ravens and even attended two home games this season. Clark, on the other hand, is a lifelong supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs.
