Following their home win against the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday, Caitlin Clark & Co. met gymnastics legend Simone Biles and Olympic track star Gabby Thomas. The Indiana Fever shared a post on the meet, which Clark re-shared on her Instagram.
"lemme fan girl real quick," Clark captioned her IG story.
Both Simone Biles and Gabby Thomas won three Olympic gold medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics, with Biles also adding a silver medal to her tally. This was their first time going to a WNBA game.
Biles' stories featured a video of Clark hitting a shot from deep along with a snap of a miniature version of the Fever's mascot Freddy with the game in the background. She also reshared the Fever's acknowledgment of the gymnastic legend in their stadium, which was met with a standing ovation from the crowd.
Caitlin Clark breaks WNBA rookie three-point record
Caitlin Clark added yet another WNBA feat to her fast-growing list of accolades. With her first three-pointer in the game, Clark made the 86th three-pointer in her rookie season to secure the WNBA record for most three-pointers made in a rookie season.
The first overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft surpassed Rhyne Howard's previous record of 85 three-pointers made in 34 games during the 2022 regular season. Clark upped her record to 88 in her 31st game and is likely to take a commanding lead with nine games remaining in the regular season.
Caitlin Clark concluded Wednesday's game with 19 points, five rebounds, five assists, one steal, and a block while shooting 41.2% from the field and 25.0% from beyond the arc.
With the win, the Fever are riding a two-game winning streak and seventh in the league with a 15-16 record. They will face the Chicago Sky on Friday for the much anticipated final regular season matchup against Clark and Angel Reese.
