Like many other basketball stars, Caitlin Clark is an avid golf fan. The Indiana Fever rookie has even participated in Pro-Ams, joining forces with renowned golfer Zach Johnson for the 2023 John Deere Classic Pro-Am.
Clark looked natural with the golf club in hand, and some videos resurfaced on Thursday after she said she'd focus on golf in the WNBA offseason.
This video drew a lot of attention, with some fans even saying she should become a professional golfer and forget about the WNBA.
"Honestly she should go play in Europe and do some lpga exhibition events and let the WNBA self destruct," one fan said.
"She should she’s probably be good at the sport since all the wnba wants to do is kick her out of the league..wnba don’t want her there and her rookies season proves it," another fan wrote.
"That’s a good swing. She also said she’ll be a professional golfer. Jokingly but you know if you are subjected to negativity by your own peers and get hurt, that might not be a joke. W.N.B.A. really messed this up," another fan said.
Others didn't hesitate and said they would watch Caitlin Clark if she switched sports.
"And we're gonna watch her play some damn golf!" one fan said.
Caitlin Clark explained how golf helped her basketball career
In a 2023 interview, Clark broke down how golf has helped her improve her basketball game.
"Obviously, in basketball, I have four other girls on the court with me that I can lean on if I'm not having a good day or shooting well. If I'm on the golf course, It's all on me. You have to accept that not every day is gonna be great for you," she said (via Golf Digest).
After playing 81 games in 324 days, Caitlin Clark is having a well-deserved resting time. She jokingly made her intentions clear about becoming a professional golfer, and the LPGA even accepted her request.
