Lexie Hull and the Rose BC faced the Vinyl BC in the championship game of the Unrivaled on Monday, March 17. Unlike their semifinal game against the Laces BC, Hull and the Rose team led the Vinyl team starting from the first quarter.
After struggling in the semifinal, Lexie Hull had a slow start in the final. She played only 2 minutes in the first quarter and went scoreless behind Azura Stevens' 8 early points, helping them take a 19-16 early lead.
Lexie Hull through 4 quarters
Lexie Hull played a total of 4 minutes in the game. Coach Nola Henry decided to bench Hull and kept her starting lineup on the floor for the maximum exploit. Hull took the floor for four minutes and ended the game without any field goal attempt.
Hull hasn’t been the focus of her team’s offense and makes most of her exploits on the defensive end. In her inaugural Unrivaled season, Lexie Hull played all 14 games for the Rose BC and averaged 6.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. Despite missing Angel Reese and Kahleah Cooper, the Rose BC ended up winning the inaugural season title.
Moreover, Hull and her teammates ended up collecting $50K each for themselves. The script was similar to the semifinal game against the Laces. When it was winning time in the fourth quarter, Chelsea Gray turned up the heat and gave her team a 9-point lead with back-to-back jumpers.
Brittney Sykes who had a team-high 21 points, closed the last page of the chapter with an and-1. She touched the 62-point mark with the free throw. Azura Stevens and Gray had 19 and 18 points each.
