LA Sparks fans react as Lexie Brown poses in Celtics gear after 18th title

Lexie Brown of the LA Sparks stirred the pot on Monday after she picked an outfit that didn't please multiple fans of the Sparks or the LA Lakers. After the Boston Celtics secured their 18th NBA title Monday night, many fans celebrated this achievement.

Before the game, Brown shared a couple of pics on social media, wearing Celtics gear. She accompanied the pictures with a series of emojis showing who she was rooting for in Game 5 of the 2024 NBA Finals.

What followed was a series of reactions from fans.

"Magic gon trade ya now," a fan said.
"Lexie... This is betrayal. Still luv u tho," a fan commented.
"You def not starting no more games 😭," a fan wrote.

Some fans had kind words for Brown and her outfit, while a fan reminded people that she was Dee Brown's daughter. Brown spent seven years with the Celtics in the 1990s.

"I didn't know u were cool like that," one fan wrote.
"That green look good on you Lexie 🔥🔥💪🏾☘️☘️☘️☘️," another fan said.
"Y’all do know this Dee brown daughter right," one fan commented.

Seeing how passionate LA fans are about the Lakers, it's easy to see why this situation rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.

Despite all the criticism, Brown wasn't backing down. She doubled down after the Celtics beat the Dallas Mavericks and won the NBA championship, reminding fans that the Celtics now lead the association in titles.

LA Sparks owner Magic Johnson had a strong reaction to Celtics' 18th championship

While Lexie Brown was happy with the Celtics' victory, one of her bosses, LA Sparks owner Magic Johnson, didn't mince words when talking about the now 18-time NBA champions.

"I hate that the Celtics officially have more championships than us now," Johnson tweeted on Monday night.

The LA Lakers tied the C's at 17 in 2020 and were looking to surpass their archrivals last season until the eventual champions, Denver Nuggets, swept them in the Western Conference finals.

The Purple and Gold are still looking to return to the top of the league, having a crucial offseason in front of them this summer.

Meanwhile, Bill Russell's daughter trolled Magic Johnson after his comments. Karen Russell shared a message for Magic after he shared his unhappiness with the Celtics' success.

"Sorry Earvin!" she sarcastically apologized.

The Celtics have a strong squad that can compete for championships for several years. The Lakers are trying to build a championship-caliber team but have issues to sort out to see if that opportunity arrives.
