Angel Reese reacted to a clip of her working out with Minnesota Lynx star and reigning Defensive Player of the Year Napheesa Collier. The video, shared by Unrivaled's official X account, showed the Chicago Sky forward working on her game alongside Collier and WNBA legend Lisa Leslie, who commentates on the competition.
The clip shows Reese taking shots from mid and long-range, getting to the post, and receiving indications from Collier's husband and trainer, Alex Bazzell, who is also the league's president.
Reese wrote a message to pump up her workouts while making sure she's looking at the bigger picture with her training.
"Marathon not a sprint! Working with the best! 💗🔥," she quote-tweeted the video.
Before the start of Unrivaled, Angel Reese was recorded working on her game, even taking 3-pointers, surprising fans with her progress. Now that she's around veterans who can help her evolve, the young star is using that in her favor.
Coming off a season where she broke the single-season rebound record before A'ja Wilson surpassed her, plenty of people thought she needed to work on her offensive game. Reese isn't the most prolific scorer, as she heavily relies on layups.
Working alongside an all-time great center like Leslie and one of the best two-way players in the world, Collier, she should be able to unlock her potential.
How did Angel Reese fare in Unrivaled Week 1?
Angel Reese was designated to Rose BC in the inaugural season of Unrivaled. She's sharing touches with top veterans like Chelsea Gray and Kahleah Copper, but the team didn't have the best first half.
They lost their first matchup 79-73 against Vinyl on Friday, Jan. 17. On Saturday, they closed out their first week with a 79-70 loss to Lunar Owls. They tried to fight, but their opponents were too much for them to surpass.
Reese averaged 12.0 minutes per game during those matches, posting 11.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. She's still doing what she does best, but it's trying to improve her scoring numbers.
Rose BC and Angel Reese return to action on Saturday at 6 p.m. ET against Mist. They will close Week 2 against the Laces on Monday at 8:30 p.m. ET.
These two duels will be a good opportunity to see more of Reese's evolution on the court.
