Michael Jordan's ex-wife, Juanita Vanoy, is a big fan of Angel Reese. The Chicago Sky rookie has made a terrific impression to start her WNBA career and Vanoy has taken notice of that.
Reese had a special moment with a fan during the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game. A young girl held a sign pointing at the multiple Reese's candies she had to 'trade' for Angel Reese's shoes.
"Angel, I'll trade you all these for your shoes," the sign read.
An ESPN post showed that Reese spotted the girl with the sign, gave her the shoes, and then asked for a marker to sign them. While the young fan was excited about achieving her goal, Juanita Vanoy celebrated Reese's gesture on her Instagram stories, sharing a couple of snaps from the post.
Angel Reese has gained a lot of fans during her first WNBA season. The 22-year-old forward has already made history in the league, setting a new record for the most consecutive games with a double-double with 15.
Juanita Vanoy has been there every step of the way, hyping up the No. 7 overall pick in April's draft, and celebrating Reese's every achievement on social media.
Angel Reese posted a double-double in the All-Star Game
Angel Reese was selected to her first All-Star Game in her first WNBA season, proving further how good she has been since entering the league. Juanita Vanoy also hyped her up after that moment, noting that she was getting her flowers with the All-Star nod.
"Angel Reese getting her flowers for making the All Star Team 👏," Vanoy captioned an Instagram story.
Once she made it to Footprint Center, Reese was locked in, first beating Caitlin Clark and the rest of her teammates in a shooting contest during their first practice, and winning $100.
During the All-Star Game, the forward shined again, recording a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. She wasn't named the MVP of the exhibition game, as Arike Ogunbowale dropped 34 points on her way to winning the award, but Reese held her own against the biggest stars in the league.
The Chicago Sky entered the All-Star break fresh off a big win over the defending champions Las Vegas Aces, proving that they're keen on competing this season.
Reese is a strong candidate to win the Rookie of the Year award, which will be decided after the Olympic break.
