Sheryl Swoopes joined Angel Reese's podcast to clear the air on several topics, including her recent controversies surrounding Caitlin Clark. The four-time WNBA champion shed light on the viral moment when Clark won Player of the Week honors and she remained silent.

Swoopes started by saying the people in charge of the broadcast didn't ask her to say anything about that information, noting that the narrator was talking about Clark and Napheesa Collier.

Then, she addressed the viral moment when she allegedly ignored Caitlin Clark's achievement.

"First of all, I don't even know how they counted 50 seconds. Who has time to do that? But my point being, I wasn't supposed to say anything. It wasn't like they said, 'Sheryl, Caitlin win Player of the Week, what are your thoughts on that? Napheesa Collier won Player of the Year, what are your thoughts on that?' It wasn't a dialogue, it wasn't a conversation."

She also touched upon her allegedly refusing to comment in Caitlin Clark's game against the Wings:

"They were like, 'Oh, they replaced Sheryl, they fired her, they kicked her off the game because it's Caitlin Clark and she can't do that game. So, for the Dallas Wings, they have one play-by-play guy and there were three of us for the season. Myself, Fran Harris and Nancy Lieberman.
"I was contracted to do seven Dallas Wings games, so I was never supposed to do that game anyway. But because of everything else, they just kind of figured that they fired me, but really my contract was up," she finished.

Sheryl Swoopes denies having negative feelings towards Caitlin Clark

Before clarifying her viral broadcast moment, Sheryl Swoopes made it clear that she didn't have bad feelings against Caitlin Clark, noting that Clark is one of the remarkable No. 22s the WNBA has alongside A'ja Wilson. She added that being a member of Nike is another factor in staying cordial with Clark.

Swoopes said that she was tired of all the talking regarding this topic, admitting that she made a mistake in February but apologized for it. The Houston Comets legend said that regardless of her apology, fans still think that she hates Clark.

Sheryl Swoopes had a busy month after she allegedly refused to credit Clark for the Indiana Fever's turnaround, with plenty of fans and analysts often getting back at her.
