Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark's old Instagram comments on Kate Martin's post resurfaced on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday. Fans on the social media platform reacted to the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year's comments and were nostalgic about the duo's Iowa days.

Caitlin Clark hyped after Kate Martin's Bay Area selection

Caitlin Clark was hyped for her former Iowa Hawkeyes teammate Kate Martin after her selection by the Golden State Valkyries during the WNBA expansion draft. The former Aces guard was not protected by the Las Vegas side and was selected by the newest team on the block during the draft.

The 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year was pleased to see her friend get a spot in the Bay Area team as it could mean more playtime for the 24-year-old. Posting a story on Instagram Clark left a three-word message:

"lets go kater!!!!!" she wrote.

The first expansion draft in over two decades saw the Valkyries draft a player from every team in the league apart from the Seattle Storm. Martin was the Golden State's pick from the Aces and was chosen sixth overall by the franchise.

Katie will join her Aces assistant coach Natalie Nakase in San Francisco and will be hoping to do much better after she recorded just 2.6 points, 1.6 rebounds and 0.9 assists during her debut season.
