Caitlin Clark has continuously pursued perfection dating back to her time at West Des Moines Dowling Catholic High School. Clark's immense work ethic and competitive mindset, paired with her one-of-a-kind skillset, helped her become the most popular rookie in WNBA history in 2024.

During her high school days, Clark recalled feeling angry during a simple yoga class for failing to perfect a handstand. After finally sticking the pose, Clark credited her competitive nature and continued pursuit of perfection for her feelings of anger.

Clark told the story of the handstand in an interview with the Des Moines Register in February 2018, long before her historic rookie WNBA campaign.

"I couldn't get a handstand," Clark said. "My teacher could tell I was mad. Sometimes, I go way too fast, and then it doesn't turn out the way it should."

Whether it be something as simple as a handstand or something as complex as winning the WNBA Rookie of the Year award, Clark's constant drive to be the best has helped her work her way to the top.

Clark earned her stripes in her first WNBA season, averaging 19.2 points. 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds, and was named a first-team All-WNBA honors as a rookie.

Caitlin Clark releases a limited edition basketball collection with Wilson

On Tuesday, Caitlin Clark revealed a new release in collaboration with Wilson, the company that makes basketballs for the NBA and WNBA. The collection is a release of two different colorways of basketballs, which come with Caitlin Clark's signature on the front.

The basketballs come in a University of Iowa colorway and a second colorway that features pink, purple, blue and yellow colors on each of the ball's different sections. Clark and Wilson teamed up with HyVee, a grocery store chain located in Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, Wisconsin and South Dakota.

The signature basketballs are sold exclusively at HyVee locations in the United States.
