2023 US Open winner Coco Gauff's latest investment comes as the league is slated to begin on Friday, Jan. 17. She shared a statement on X (formerly Twitter) where she emphasized her love for the sport and her desire to help women's sports grow.

"My dad always wanted me to follow in his footsteps and play basketball. Haha sorry dad but this is as close as it will get," Coco Gauff tweeted. "Grateful to get the opportunity to uplift women’s sports and I am super excited to join the @Unrivaledwbb family! I can’t wait to watch"

Tennis star Coco Gauff, who has a reported net worth of $3.5 million per Celebrity Net Worth, has joined a high-profile group of investors in the league. Other notable investors include soccer star Alex Morgan, NBA legend Carmelo Anthony, Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps, actors Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher, and JuJu Watkins.

The tournament, founded July 3, 2023, by former UConn teammates Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart, will feature six teams of five players, including stars from the WNBA. Notable participants include the founders, as well as Arike Ogunbowale, Angel Reese, DiJonai Carrington, and Sabrina Ionescu, who was the latest to join.
