Alex Bazzell, husband of WNBA star Napheesa Collier, shared a heartwarming reaction to pictures of Breanna Stewart's daughter, Ruby, from the New York Liberty championship parade. The photos were shared on Thursday.
Collier faced off against the New York Liberty, led by Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu, in a five-game WNBA Finals. Although the Minnesota Lynx lost, this has not soured relationships between the two families.
Commenting on a photo of Stewart with her daughter, Bazell wrote:
"Ruby is a vibe lol."
In the image dump, three-year-old Ruby was snapped enjoying the parade with her two moms, Breanna and Marta Xargay. In one of the photos, she can be seen tucking into what looks like a bar of chocolate.
The new Unrivaled 3x3 basketball league for women, co-founded by Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier will start in January 2025. Alex Bazzell is also involved in this league, serving as the league's president.
Alex Bazzell's reaction after Breanna Stewart's Liberty wins WNBA title
A few days after the Minnesota Lynx failed to defeat the New York Liberty in Game 5 of the best-of-five WNBA Finals series, Bazzell posted a cryptic message about New York on his Instagram.
"We have a love hate relationship, currently" - Bazzell captioned his IG story.
Even though the Minnesota Lynx came up short in their pursuit of the WNBA title, Napheesa Collier's husband made sure people knew how proud he was of the team, which he took to X (formerly Twitter) to express.
"It’s really sad that’s how it ended. Love this team. Go Lynx 💚💙" he wrote.
With only a few months left before the start of the 3X3 league, the team names of the six franchises have been announced even though the rosters are yet to be decided.
The newly formed league has made headlines with rumors of a Lionel Messi-like contract in the making for WNBA rookie Caitlin Clark. The Indiana Fever guard is women's basketball's most marketable star and will be a huge get for the nascent league if the deal comes to fruition.
