The Chicago Bulls are reportedly unsure if they will retire Derrick Rose's number, which prompted Napheesa Collier's husband Alex Bazzell to react on social media. Rose announced his retirement after 16 seasons last Sept. 26 just three days after being released by the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Bulls announced that they will honor Rose on Jan. 4 against the New York Knicks. It will be a celebration of his career and there won't be any jersey retirement ceremony on the night. He is expected to reunite with former coach Tom Thibodeau, who is now in charge of New York.

"Drafting Derrick in 2008 was a special moment, not just for the Bulls organization, but for Derrick, the kid from Chicago, realizing his dream of playing for his hometown team," Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf said in a statement. "As both a player and a person, Derrick represents the grit, resilience, and heart of this city."

While it's great to see the Chicago Bulls honor the former NBA MVP, some fans were baffled by the franchise's decision to not retire his jersey just yet. One of those fans is Alex Bazzell, the husband of Minnesota Lynx star forward Napheesa Collier.

Bazzell shared a post on X, making it clear where he stood on the debate about D-Rose's jersey retirement.

"The only discussion should be where it's located in the rafters…," Bazzell tweeted.

Derrick Rose played seven seasons with the Chicago Bulls from 2008 to 2015. At just 22 years and six months, Rose was named the youngest MVP in NBA history in 2011 in just his third year in the league. His career was derailed by many injuries, starting with a torn ACL in 2012.

In addition to Chicago, Rose also suited up for teams such as the New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Detroit Pistons and Memphis Grizzlies.

Napheesa Collier and the Minnesota Lynx did the unthinkable in Game 1 of the 2024 WNBA Finals against the New York Liberty. The Lynx came back from an 18-point deficit to beat the Liberty in overtime to take a 1-0 lead. Collier hit the go-ahead fadeaway jump shot with 8.8 seconds remaining.

Her husband, Alex Bazzell, dropped a four-word reaction following the Lynx's 95-93 victory. It was Minnesota's first win in the WNBA Finals since their last trip there in 2017.

"My wife is HER," Bazzell tweeted.

Napheesa Collier and Alex Bazzell have been together since she was a junior at UConn, as reported by the CT Insider. They have been married since Oct. 7, 2022, and have a daughter named Mila Sarah.
