Kate Martin was one of the marquee names making the tournament and in the process became the 27th player to join the 30-wo, a tournament with league co-founders Breanna Stewart and Collier. She will team up alongside Kayla McBride, Alyssa Thomas, Courtney Williams, and Stefanie Dolson.

Kate Martin explains her preparation for Unrivaled

Earlier, Kate Martin took to TikTok in December to showcase her offseason workouts. She captioned it: "Week in my life of workouts! I fully missed a day of the workouts in the video somehow, but just wanted to share the fun I’ve been having with training this off-season!"

She also added:

"This is Wednesday. We just played 1-on-1 for literally over an hour. Just working on creating moves, working on new moves... in 3-on-3 you're going to have to score the ball, and it's just fun being able to play 1-on-1."

3-on-3 and 5-on-5 are quite different games as the preparation and strategies vary. The Golden State Valkyries guard appeared to put in extra yards leading up to the competition.

Martin was one of the surprise names that did the rounds when the Las Vegas Aces opted to not protect her given her usage towards the end of the season. The 18th overall pick of the 2024 WNBA Draft. With the side struggling with injuries at the start of the season, her playing time reduced as the team got healthier throughout the season. Speaking about joining Golden State, Martin said:

"This league is all about opportunity. I am very thankful for the Aces and everything I got to learn there, but I'm really excited for this new beginning and to build something from the ground up with the Valkyries."

It will be interesting to see how the side fares with Kate Martin expected to be one of the starters for the Valkyrie. Only time will tell if it will be 'Money Martin's breakout WNBA season.
