Napheesa Collier’s Minnesota Lynx will head to Brooklyn on Thursday to open the 2024 WNBA Finals against Breanna Stewart and the New York Liberty. Collier and Co. booked a seat in the championship round after outlasting the Connecticut Sun in five games. Stewart’s Liberty dethroned the Las Vegas Aces in four games to secure their second-straight finals appearance.

Napheesa Collier won the 2024 Defensive Player of the Year award and was the runner-up to A’ja Wilson in the 2024 MVP voting. In 2020, Breanna Stewart’s Seattle Storm swept Napheesa Collier’s Minnesota Lynx in the semifinals. Seattle won Game 1 88-86 and Game 2 89-79 before a convincing 92-71 victory in the clincher.

The only way for Collier to turn that record to a tie around is by leading the Lynx to a sweep of the Liberty in the 2024 WNBA Finals.
