Caitlin Clark has taken the world by storm due to her dazzling performances this season. Despite how impressive she has looked in her rookie year, there are still several doubters and critics who are not sold on what she brings to the table. This was pointed out by NBA 2k influencer Rachel DeMita in her "Courtside Club" podcast.

The Indiana Fever guard is averaging 17.8 points (41.2% shooting, including 32.8% from 3-point range), 8.3 assists and 5.8 rebounds per game. Clark's production has helped her team rise to seventh place in the WNBA standings.

However, DeMita argued that what Clark is showing right now still won't be enough for her to win the MVP award. The podcast episode was uploaded on Friday and was shared by user Ken Swift on X.

"I don't think ... that the WNBA, no matter if Caitlin Clark scored 60 points a game and dunked from the free-throw line, the WNBA is not going to give her MVP this season," DeMita said. "They're just not going to do that. Even if, without a doubt, she did something insane [like] Fever win the championship, all of the above, breaks every single record ..."

She highlighted how there have been basketball takes from analysts and former WNBA players, such as Sheryl Swoopes, that still refuse to give Caitlin Clark the praise she deserves.

However, Clark still has a long list of other MVP candidates to outmatch from Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson to Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier. They have been playing excellent basketball this season with their stats and team records to back up their cases for the award.

That said, Clark is the favorite to win the Rookie of the Year award as she continues to impress after struggling in her first few outings.

Serena Williams praises how Caitlin Clark has been handling the outside noise

During her appearance at this year's Tribeca Film Festival on June 14, tennis legend Serena Williams took the time to praise Caitlin Clark for her professionalism amid all the outside noise she is receiving. Her comments were shared by user slugbug on X.

"I just love that she tries to stay grounded," Williams said. "She says that she doesn't look at her social [media]. I get it. I don't either. I think it's so important to just continue to do what she's doing. No matter what other people do, if people are negative it's because they can't do what you do, basically. Hopefully, she'll continue to do as she's doing."

Not many athletes are capable of being unbothered by what critics have to say about their craft. Clark entered the WNBA with the immense pressure of being one of the future faces of the league while also expected to be the franchise player of the Indiana Fever for years to come.

Through it all, Caitlin Clark has remained true to who she is as a person while making sure that she leaves everything on the court on a nightly basis.
